The anti-vibration joints UNOFLEX are recommended to reduce the transmission of vibrations and noise, offset expansion of pipelines, etc.


The joints UNOFLEX are recommended to:

  • reduce the transmission of vibrations and noise along pressurized pipeline;
  • attenuate mechanical vibrations between sources (pumps, compressors, conditioners, boilers, etc. ..) and pipes;
  • offset expansion of pipelines (use in pair), for Δ thermal fluid;
  • reduce the impact;
  • bear the suspended loads (pumps, circulators, etc. ..).

    UNOFLEX joints are intended for mechanical insulation

    UNOFLEX joints are intended for mechanical insulation and soundproofing along pressurized pipings. In the field of mechanical vibrations, the insulating efficiency of any joint depends on its elastic compliance, which should exist at all loading conditions the joints might be submitted to. In the field of acoustical vibrations, where the displacements are of almost negligible amplitudes, the soundproofing efficiency is to be found only in the softness of elastic material employed to perform the required break along the sound path.

    UNOFLEX joints should work in traction In order to install the joint working in traction, rods are delivered together with the joint, to be used only to adjust the joint’s lenght so it will work in traction when the rods, after the joint’s installation, are removed.

    Important We recommended to install UNOFLEX joints between pipe ends that are perfectly in line, adjacent to the origin of mechanical or acustical vibrations, as pumps, exchangers, compressors a.s.o. When water or other liquids are flowing in the tubings, we recommend that the joints be installed vertically, to avoid stagnation of vapour or air locks, and also because doing so, the pipe’s alignement will not be affected by variations of the tubing’s trueness due, for instance, to the charging of the system. During installation make attention for the prolongation of the of the hydrostatic pressure and of the over loading.

    UNOFLEX joints should work in traction, but they can stand compressive loads, provided they are of less value than the hydrostatic pressure. figura giunti unoflexdisegno disegno2 download

    a – Elastic body “mouthpiece” which ensures the best elastic performance with temperature –40°C up to +130°C and longest life. On request it’s possible a special realization of the mouthpiece for different application.

    b – Flange in light alloy and/or steel, design PN 10 – PN 16. disegno3
    c – Collar in light alloy, designed to receive the elastic body and protect in against light and atmospheric agents’ aggresivity. disegno4
    d – Connector “diverging body” in light alloy provided with internal straightening fins in  order to avoid turbolence and to normalize the fluid’s flow. Available in STEEL at request. disegno5

    The main features of UNOFLEX Joints are related to their elastic and hydraulic performances: the elastic one consists in the application of the shear modulus for both axial and torsional strains, the hydraulic one in the execution of the ’Venturi tube’. UNOFLEX Joints are used in pairs to limit expansions due to heat.

    The UNOFLEX joint is formed of:

    a – elastic body “for the locking” b – flanges c – collar d – Connector ”diverging”

    They are made of light alloy or on request of stainless steel. The elastic elements in elastomer compounds are suitable for various needs and for temperatures up to  +130°C and –40°. Central finnings inside the connector element permit the normalization of  the flows and in the meanwhile an increased antisound and anti-vibration effectiveness. Fluids reach the UNOFLEX joint from the side marked by a relief arrow on the connector connection.


  • Joints with different flange

    The UNOFLEX joint can be supplied with different flanges either for the DN or the PN. 
    In the table reporting the different combinations, the first number refers to the diameter of the inlet flange, while the second number refers to the outlet flange.

    Pressure losses:

    The diagram showing pressure losses to capacity was built on data recorded on an experimental set-up and completed applying the principle of similarity.
    Practical tests on actual plants have proved the validity of the diagram.
    The diagram hereunder shows the efficacy of the UNOFLEX joint as a flow equalizer. Practical situations have in fact been verified when these joints, inserted immediately after the pumps, have not altered the total resistance of the plant; not only, but the presence of UNOFLEX joints has favoured the recovery of losses due to th turbolence of the flow.

    Examples of Soleco elastic connections used to install pumps and compressors: UNOFLEX joints and EMCF – TF and BB line anti-vibration mounts are used to dampen vibrations.

    UNOFLEX joints do not require excursion locks. The fluid pressure does not affect the elastic properties of the joint and its flexibility guarantees mechanical and noise isolation.
