The new series of anti-vibration seismic isolators LaLN

Innovation and research combined with Soleco engineering expertise: here is LaLN, the new line of anti-vibration seismic isolators.

For over 50 years, Soleco has been studying, designing, and manufacturing tools suitable for vibration isolation, offering innovative solutions tailored to every requirement and application. The company’s decades of experience in designing anti-vibration and seismic devices have led to the creation of increasingly innovative solutions, adaptable to more specific sectors.

In recent years, we have witnessed a growing awareness among designers and machine manufacturers about seismic issues and the increasing search for solutions to prevent damage to both structural and non-structural parts, especially for special sites like hospitals, research centers, and airports.

For this reason, the new series of anti-vibration seismic isolators LaLN from Soleco, launched at MCE 2024, is receiving great success among the various products available in this market.

Unlike free-spring anti-vibration devices, these units feature a structure that contains the spring and prevents the machine from tipping over in the event of an earthquake and/or strong winds. This makes them recommended not only for installation in seismic areas but also when machines are placed on rooftops, ensuring a stable anchor for the unit.

Further value is added by the continuous tests conducted at the Politecnico di Milano according to ANSI/ASHRAE 171-2008 standards (Method Seismic Restraint devices for HVAC&R Equipment), which ensure the achievement of the highest quality standards, with performance levels and testing methodology validated and certified by LLOYD’S REGISTER.

Soleco’s mission has always been to find solutions that guarantee the customer meets the required specifications while also improving installation processes, making them simpler and faster. For this reason, the team redesigned the seismic series, enhancing its structure and adding features that make installation more immediate. Specifically, the modifications mainly concern the outer structure, which has been renewed to ensure greater resistance to dynamic shear, traction, and compression loads. The new geometry guarantees total decoupling between the base and the cover, minimizing vibration transmission. The thicknesses of the elastomeric components and seals have been doubled to improve the cutting of high frequencies that might pass through the spring wire. Finally, the new models are provided with a graduated rod to check deflection and the load per support point of the isolated machine.
